Committee formed to prepare syllabus in Humli Vot Lama language

Simkot. Namkha rural municipality of Humla has formed a committee to develop local curriculum. According to the decision of the Namkha Rural Municipality, a 9-member curriculum writing and development committee was formed under the coordination of Samcap Tamang.
Manraj Budha, head of village education branch, informed that a committee was formed for local language and Tibetan language in the meeting of education committee in the presence of Namkha rural municipality chairman Prem Bahadur Lamako.
With the financial support of the rural municipality, it has been decided to carry forward the work of writing and creating the curriculum in the local language Limi Sambhota and Humli Vot La language. For class 1 to 8 local language Vot Lama Tibetan language course under the coordination of Samcap Tamang, Paljor Tamang, Konjok Lama and other member secretary Manraj Budha.
Local language will be an optional subject. The local language committee has been instructed to prepare the curriculum by the village head Lama. Budha, the head of the education branch, said that from the next academic session 2081-082, the local curriculum will be implemented in community, institutional and religious schools within the village.
Kanjok Lama, who is well versed in social service and local language writing, said that subjects like profession, religion, art, culture, geographical location, architecture, sculpture, tourism will be included. In Namkha Rural Municipality, preparations are being made to teach Lama Bhot language in 17 community, institutional and religious schools.
